Problem
The banking group needed to deliver a fast, secure, and intuitive guest Wi-Fi experience across thousands of branches while meeting strict internal security policies and regulatory requirements. It also needed a solution that could scale across locations with different technical constraints, support tailored authentication journeys for clients, prospects, and contractors, and maintain reliable visitor authentication even in branches with limited mobile network coverage.
How Cloudi-Fi fits
Cloudi-Fi provided a centralized guest access platform that delivered consistent authentication, identity management, and policy enforcement across every branch.
Acting as the Identity Provider, Cloudi-Fi integrated with Zscaler ZIA through SAML to authenticate guest users and securely route traffic through the bank's existing security infrastructure. This ensured policy-compliant access with full visibility into guest activity.
To simplify branch operations, on-site DHCP servers were replaced with a centralized, cloud-managed DHCP service. Branches connected securely through IPsec tunnels, providing consistent IP address management while reducing local infrastructure requirements.
Working closely with the bank's IT teams, Cloudi-Fi also developed more than 40 customized captive portals tailored to different visitor journeys—including clients, prospects, and contractors—while maintaining a consistent brand experience.
